Elizabeth Kennedy, Soprano

Soprano Elizabeth Kennedy’s voice has been described by the Boston Herald as "possessing an inner radiance and strength" -Gewertz. She was further commended by the Boston Globe for the role of Pamina, as she "unfurled her big creamy soprano and showed suavity of line, lucid diction and lovely soft high notes. She has a real presence and command." -Larsen.

A prize winner in the New England regional finals of the Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions, Kennedy’s credits include New York solo appearances in Schubert’s Mass in B flat Major, Mozart’s Sunday Vespers, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, and the roles of Giulietta in I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Adele in die Fledermaus, and Valencienne in The Merry Widow. Other performances include Lucy in The Telephone with the Natchez Festival of Music, La Cugina in Madama Butterfly with Boston Lyric Opera, Pamina in The Magic Flute with Opera unMet, and the Foreign Princess in Rusalka with Symphony ProMusica. Kennedy is a founding member of enCANTA Collective, an NYC-based ensemble performing multicultural works of vocal chamber music.

Kennedy recently completed an opera apprenticeship at the Caramoor Festival of Music. Her fall and winter engagements include Catalan songs of Mompou with the Donnell Music series at the NYPL at Lincoln Center, a recital of German songs and duets at Columbia University, Handel’s Messiah with Pocket Opera of New York, and a baroque concert of Bach & Handel in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.
